This quarter’s highlights include an improved column group, two-line labels in bars, and an improved asset upload dialog in the Asset module.
BUDGET & COST: Improved Column Group Collapse Behavior
The collapsing and expanding behavior of column groups in the Budget & Cost Grid has been made consistent and intuitive. When a column group is collapsed, the first column of that group always remains visible. In addition, the collapsed or expanded state of column groups is now saved in bookmarks, so users can return to their preferred view without having to manually adjust columns each time. This will lead to needing less manual setup and a more predictable and efficient grid!
ASSETS: Improved Asset Upload Dialogue
For everyone who needs, uses, and wants assets, we have made it a lot easier to upload them! Users can upload several images at once, review each file in a scrollable list, and add metadata such as tags and category. Bulk updates help apply metadata to several selected assets at once, while still allowing individual adjustments where needed.
BUDGET & COST: Use Calculated Columns as Input for New Calculated Columns in the Budget & Cost Grid
Users can now reference existing calculated columns as source values when defining new calculated columns in the Budget & Cost Grid. This makes it possible to build more advanced calculations - for example, summing up multiple variance columns - without manual workarounds or duplicating logic. This is great for budget planners and finance teams who work with complex cost structures in the Budget & Cost Grid, as it allows for greater flexibility in building financial calculations. Users can layer calculations on top of each other, reducing manual effort and enabling more sophisticated analysis.
PLAN: Two-line labels in bars
Long names in Plan bars were cut off after one line or placed outside of the bar instead.
On view size “Medium” or larger, there is enough height in the bars to make a two-line label possible without a visible font size difference. The line break is calculated with the goal of not separating full words and placing an ellipsis when space runs out.
SETTINGS: Make Substitute Optional for Out-of-Office Periods
We all need a break sometimes, and we've made it even easier to track in Marmind. A substitute is no longer required when users create an out-of-office period in Settings. Users can save an out-of-office entry without assigning another person, supporting situations where no suitable substitute is available and making absence planning more flexible.
