All data in Workstream is stored in the system's own database with no external transfers or third-party cloud storage. The modules connect only to your internal systems and Entirely products-nothing is public or externally accessible. All changes are tracked and logged with full audit trails, and data governance and compliance are built into the architecture. This makes the platform suitable for regulated industries with strict compliance requirements.

n8n and Workato are tools for connecting different systems and automating tasks quickly. In contrast, a Marmind workflow automates tasks within a defined process inside Marmind. It can also consume or generate external signals and triggers to interact with other tools.

Workstream uses BPMN, a standard for modeling how business processes behave over time, including long-running activities, waiting periods, approvals, and formal error handling. While an automation tool focuses on executing individual tasks or integrations, Workstream defines how systems and processes should behave throughout their lifecycle.

Workstream does more than track process flows. It provides an overview of the different states of multiple instances running the same process, enabling teams to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and analyze process efficiency.
